My guess this next fix might be to remove all cloaks and shoes from the game, just to say they are working on lag. I don’t have my hopes up, I know they are working on a new data base for the game as well as a new Laucher but none of those changes has yet to see the light of day, and what about the new 64 bit servers they have had for over 2 years now, that just sit on the SSG floor in a storage room somewhere?

Yeah and it totaly understandable. That is bit of the problem with games like lord of the rings, star trek, age of conan and D&D online and star wars. They are more for fans than just mmo for every one.

And congrats to all of you for another MOP achievement :D

I love No Man’s Sky but I tend to just dip into the game every now and again. For me personally, a new community expedition is a good way to see what’s new and get some structured objectives as well as players all around you. I just rolled up a new save for the current expedition and am excited to play! Idk how they make their money, but if they release a game that’s anywhere close to a genre I like, I will buy it (like The Last Campfire – lovely game as well).

Reddit is very useful for finding information but has been hostile to end users for a long time, so I loathe the company. I hope the blackout leads to some concessions, or we get more alternatives as Reddit becomes less relevant (agreed that Discord isn’t it – it’s getting to the “how much can we get away with before there’s overwhelming pushback” phase and is much less searchable).

It’s never a great game full stop but I certainly think Tortage is its weakest part. And the lack of voice acting is actually a blessing as it’s never much good anyway.

Vertical progression is fine, people see it as evil because a lot of MMOs have had huge power increases available. That doesn’t need to be the case.

I would like to see Reddit and Discord burn and die (the companies, not the staff. Since that probably actually has to be explicitly stated given how the Internet is now.)

I hope Reddit stands their ground until their entire userbase bails out and the ground caves in beneath them.

Exactly. Or it would be more of an actual event when the actual interaction happens. Less gank, more tactical. Or possibly diplomatic, though that’s a stretch.

And the pve players that travel in the flanks and provide support would be crucial to the whole operation.

Man, it’s like… right there.

A large part of my interest in CU is because the progression was supposed to be horizontal, i.e. your characters didn’t get more powerful, they simply unlocked more options, more specialities.

That is a huge selling point for me! Vertical progression is, imo, the enemy of most MMORPGs. It makes most content redundant, makes it really difficult to team up with your friends, often removes choice from the players by forcing them through a tiered route. In PvP games the situation is even worse! Not only will veterans be more experienced, but they’ll also be more powerful! This results in the game “eating its young”, dooming it to an inconsequential niche.

I obviously need more precise information, but if this game has moved from horizontal to vertical progression, then it’ll move from being the only MMORPG im interested in…..to a hard pass.

I don’t like mods, especially not UI mods. I think in a couple of cases (*cough*Bethesda*coudcouch*WoW*cough) the devs use them as an excuse for lazy or even deliberately bad game design. And counting on unpaid users to *volunteer* to fix it. Such as Fallout 76 apparently still having some of the same engine-level bugs that have been fixed in the Unofficial Patch Mod since *Morrowind.*

You, you know, basically everything that WoW has ever done with their UI – who cares, users will just mod the hell out of it anyway. And then probably stick every single icon to the center of the screen, because *Real* WoW isn’t about experiencing a virtual world. It’s about playing “whack-a-mole” with 30 different icons covering your character so that you don’t have to look away from… well, the center of the screen.

There’s also the part where I’ve had save-games corrupted when the game got a patch, and I reloaded my save without noticing that one or more of the mods had NOT been patched yet. Oops, data corrupt, hope you weren’t attached or did something stupid like playing the same save for 150 hours.

Where the Sith insurgents go,
Doing quests for people only they would know.

I would love a game where AI was used to reshuffle and generate a new mix of terrain, locations and NPC locations. A new starting area for each new character I start in that game would be awesome. Keeping it fresh would lengthen my time playing that particular game. GW2’s Queensdale gets boring after my 10th alt. Not to mention the loss of interest in exploration in the entire game that is totally static.

Here are the most obvious changes compared to TD2:
No side-arm.
Shorter cooldowns (my skills were 20-40 sec, med kit at 60 sec)
No mix-and-match ‘ing of skills – you pick from 4 specializations and get 2 skills and an ult. 2 offensive specs, 2 defensive specs. One for each weapon and skill focused gameplay. Each spec has 2 variants you can switch between. Character level and specialization levels are 2 different progressions, so you can switch spec later.
Gear can be upgraded up to your level by spending mats and credits.

Otherwise it looks, feels and plays like the division with touch controls or optionally controller.
I saw mouse and keyboard settings in the options menu so I assume It could show up on pc or at least on the google play pc client.

It ran very smooth on my recent but not-at-all built for gaming tablet, though with some texture pop-in weirdness.
No idea about monetization. Seems to be skins + battlepass + currencies, but I’ve not played anywhere near enough to say what the impact is.

This sounds like it’s going to crash and burn like Infinite Crisis did. The only difference is that it may benefit LotRo this time.

This is garbage.

Yeah that top chunk has me wary for Dune.

I’m betting about 3 or 4 weeks til the first faction imbalance and the devs start thinking about “making changes to make things more even”.

Developers never seem to get their head around the fact that some people just want to ruin the gameplay of others. They are not playing your game, they are playing the gank and grief game.

Yes, I don’t have to look, but I will, like a car crash.

Yeah. And again, if they nail the details this can be a fine design pattern theoretically. But most often it isn’t actually engaging (killing deer that don’t fight back for tier 1 materials), and so the non-PVP crowd churns out and the game fully relying on players has too few.
